Inspection and Evaluation of Risks of Material Damage in buildings courses
On April 29, 2020, the Inspection and Evaluation of Risks of material damage in buildings began, taught by the Agustin de Betancourt Foundation. The courses, divided into 5 sessions, lasted 15 teaching hours. The course is recognized by the IAEA and also allows participants to justify their specific training in risks in order to recognize their competence in the area.
Through it, the aim is to prepare engineers and architects to be able to inspect and evaluate risks related to material damage that may originate or affect structural elements of buildings. According to the IAEA, participants can recognize their competencies in different areas and at different levels. The recognition areas are: Structural stability (E), Habitability (H) and Finishes (A). Regarding the levels, they are divided into: Junior (D), Senior (C), Expert (B) and Project portfolio (A).
The students of the courses receive a certificate of attendance through which they can access the E – D proficiency exam: Junior level in Inspection and Evaluation of risks in the structural stability of buildings at the site level.
The course is developed under the legal framework of buildings in Spain and the students acquire knowledge in the management of the risk of material damage in the structures, in their pathology, in the figure of the OCT, in the insurance in the building, in the management of the risk of damage and in the inspection of works.
Last year, which ended on May 13, 2020, it was attended by Ing. Fernando Rodríguez, the architects Javier Fernández and
Diego Casero. and the geologist Daniel Agut.
